Car Shocks & Struts Replacement includes 4 chapters:

Chapter 1: Introduction and Tools Needed

Chapter 2: Macpherson Strut Replacement

Step 1: Inspect struts for leaks and damage.
Step 2: Read all instructions first.
Step 3: Raise and support vehicle.
Step 4: Spray penetrating oil on all mounting bolts and nuts.
Step 5: Remove any attachments from the strut.
Step 6: Remove lower mounting bolts.
Step 7: Do not remove the piston rod nut.
Step 8: Remove strut from vehicle and mount in vise.
Step 9: Compress the coil spring on the strut.
Step 10: Remove upper support housing and coil spring seat.
Step 11: Install new hardware and rubber boots onto the support.
Step 12: Install the coil spring and upper spring seat onto the strut.
Step 13: Loosen spring compressor tool from coil spring.
Step 14: Positon strut on vehicle and install upper mounting bolts.
Step 15: Install lower mounting bolts and washers in the correct position.
Step 16: Test drive the vehicle.

Chapter 3: GM W-10 Strut Replacement

Step 1: Read all instructions thoroughly.
Step 2: Remove retaining nuts and mounting cover.
Step 3: Remove piston rod nut and strut mount bushing.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the compression bumper retainer.
Step 5: Remove the body nut.
Step 6: Remove strut cartridge.
Step 7: Remove any fluid left in strut cartridge.
Step 8: Install new gas strut cartridge and tighten body nut.
Step 9: Reinstall compression bumper and retainer.
Step 10: Reinstall strut bushing and pistong rod nut.
Step 11: Reinstall strut mount cover.
Step 12: Test driver vehicle.

Chapter 4: Inspecting And Replacing Shocks

Step 1: Do bounce test to check shocks.
Step 2: Park vehicle on lever ground and support safely.
Step 3: Spray penetrating oil on all mounting bolts.
Step 4: Remove upper and lower mounting bolts.
Step 5: Remove shock from vehicle.
Step 6: Install new hardware and grommets on new shocks.
Step 7: Place shock in vehicle and install lower mounting bolts.
Step 8: Install upper mounting bolts.
Step 9: Test drive vehicle.
